Tropaeolum majus (Nasturtium)


Nasturtium is a genus of about 80 species of annual and perennial herbaceous plants Tropaeolum, one of three in the family ever Tropaeolaceae. The genus originating from South and Central America, includes several very popular garden flowers.

They have spectacular flowers and rounded leaves thyroid whose handle is in the middle. The flowers have five petals (sometimes more), and pistil funnel nectar tube. It can be added to salads to obtain an exotic look and taste. Have a slight tangy taste similar to watercress. Marinated unripe seeds are used as a substitute for capers.
